Adventure Time

So for my fifth month birthday (July 19th) my parents decided it was High Time we went camping. (We also went to give the pet sitter an audition, which she passed with flying colours) We didn't go far, only a few miles away {we could get home or to civilization within an hour} but mum and Da said it was enough like being in the mountains to not really notice. I had to believe them cos to me it looked to be a million miles away, after all I decided not to take a nap on the way up so I saw it all.

When we go there it was one exciting thing after another between putting up the tent, pumping up the bed, (that's right we bring the queen size air mattress, purists be damned my days of sleeping on the ground are over!) and unpacking and setting up the rest of the camp site that I didn't take a nap then either.  We set the tent up (yeah kid you were a BIG help) right by the river. Mum says that it made natural nature sounds and I wouldn't need Higgens except to love and watch over me. It was really nice and normally would have made me tired, but not today!

Next we went swimming in the pool, I know here we are right by a river and we go to the pool. But when Da put my feet in the river later I knew why we went swimming in the pool, brrrrr that's cold. (Not to mention the tide and the current. {I didn't know that rivers had tides but this one sure did.}) We had a blast at the pool once we were able to get in. Evidently it was something called "Adult Swim" from 4-5. Mom got in and Da was just about to hand me down...my foot was inches away from the water...when the older people (octogenarians) yell out, "Its Adult Swim! You can't put that baby in there! They'll yell at you!" (Seems to me that we had just got yelled at {It was like 4:45 and he's a five month old baby!} Who does that, not only are you being a fascist but yer being an arsehole as well...waiting till the boy is seriously inches away from the water {and don't give us that crap about "They'll yell at you. You just yelled at us!})

So we went to the store and came back at 4:59 and counted down the seconds (not out loud believe it or not) till we could get in and have fun. I'd never been swimming with Da before (the country club remember) and it was fun, he's silly but also a little rough he got my face wet (right messed up his hair too) but we had lots of fun. Mom and Louis are fun but there was something special about it being just the three of us. {What a sweet boy}I also got to try out my new floaty thing. You know it, Mum and Da bought me one like Louie's. Mine is orange with turtles and Hawaiian flowers.I finally took a little nap in the car-seat in nothing but my diaper, what a day so far! Mum and Da even went to get dinner and I slept through. The day sure caught up with me.

But I wouldn't sleep for long. Next we went on a walk along the river and I put my feet in...it was COLD. Definitely not for swimming. It sure was fun just putting my feet in and playing around with Mum and Da.

Can't wait to go camping again...

Love,
Iain
