My Da is a Trooper

So my Da had surgery on his spine on Tuesday. The surgeon said everything went really well, which is good since I will be in his arms before long. They let him out of the hospital on Wednesday, because he was such a model patient. After all, he even brought his own nurse with him.

Here is a shot of Da before surgery

He has not been smiling so much since the surgery, and has been having a rough time of it. He has not had any reduction in the pain or numbness, but that may still come with time. Mum has been sticking by him, and we hope each day will get a little better. Thank you for all your well wishes to him. Keep them coming as they bring a smile to his face. Personally, I just want him to know that I am proud of him for sticking through it and being such a tough guy. I love you lots Da.

Always,

Oh My Many Firsts

Mum and Da worked pretty hard on the look of this thing today, and we would be remiss if we didn't add a word or two.  So I've had my first trip to the Promised Land, and through the crooked lands of my distant relations (Liverpool and Scotland respectively) and had my first English Tea.  No weird little sandwiches but some yummy scones and pastries, I think my sweet tooth with be fully developed by the time I get out of here.  Also went to my first match (and I had to wait 38 years) which was a lot of fun, all the singing and excitement! Da might say that I had my first religious experience as well (Anfield is Hollowed Ground) being so close to that famous and wonderfully green pitch...

And now Da has decided to just put random pictures of me up.  Mum asked if we should do another picture thing. For me it is a no, and it should be to her as well...especially if she really doesn't want to know what sex I am until I come out.

Da says that I must already have a precocious streak since each time one of them nurses presses something against me I start kicking away. (My future footie star) Besides there isn't much time anyway, I'll be out in no time (please just be out on time) if you think about it I have been in here longer than it'll be before I get out.

I also had my first airplane ride (I think I was in my twenties when I first got on a plane, this kid is already spoiled) not really sure what to think about it though...just seemed kinda boring to me.{That is the way we like our airplane rides...no need for excitement}

High Five!

I'm sure there was more, I might have my Da's memory right now (me to little one and it isn't fun is it?) but I am sure that mum will remember and be sure we put the exciting things in. Maybe a few pictures of my firsts would be a good idea, not really sure how much time Da will have to fill up his site (right even unemployed I seem to have most of my time planned...4 doctor appointments in one week...and then next up...surgery...but more on that later) but with "a little luck and a little understanding" we should be able to keep communicating.

Da sent a letter yesterday to my big sister...I really Hope that she reads it and we can meet someday soon.

Love,
